It has been a long week here in Columbia, Tennessee. Brittany has worked almost every day and I have not had much to do since the outdoor pool shut down at the Y. School starts for me in another week, thankfully. I'll be occupied with school most of the time, but I will still find time to write and make videos. I wanted to write a bit on something that came up this week.
The other day, Brittany and I were in the Cool Springs Galleria killing time and waiting for my mother to get off work so we could meet her for dinner. We walked into Abercrombie & Fitch to visit with a friend who works there and I noticed a picture on the wall. Abercrombie & Fitch is notorious for its risque advertising with half-nude models; however, this picture was different. The picture featured a male model completely in the nude. Now, when they had the shirtless guy and bikini girl pictures up, I did not see a problem with it because you can go to the beach and see that any day of the week; however, the picture was a back shot and the buttocks was completely exposed. Now, I do not have kids yet, but if I did have kids I would not want to take them into Abercrombie & Fitch where they can see a picture like that. I mean, think about it. Why use a nude model in a clothes store? If you are trying to sell clothes, would you not want to model the clothes that you are selling? Yes, sex-appeal is a very good marketing strategy because it works, but why use that marketing strategy in a store where children shop? If someone were to send a child a picture of himself naked, he would be in a lot of trouble. Why should it be any different in this situation?

Hello!
My name is Fisher. I am seventeen years old and I live in Columbia, Tennessee. I began taking classes at Columbia State Community College when I was fifteen years and I am studying to be a Nurse Practitioner. I work as a Lifeguard at the YMCA of Maury County. I have many interests, including science, Ultimate, weightlifting, movies, music, and popular culture. I enjoy reading, writing, watching sports, playing Xbox, and spending time with friends and family.
Brittany and I decided to start Fish N Britts to share our opinions about current events and to discuss different situations that come up in everyday life. We hope to create a forum for discussion and for people to share their opinions on these topics. Topics for discussion could range from simple everyday occurrences to controversial issues. We encourage debates, but please be courteous and respectful.
In addition to posting on this blog, we will be periodically posting videos on our YouTube channel. The videos will be in a talk show format and we will usually leave you with questions to respond to and to share your opinion on the matter in the form of a written comment or a video response.
To keep up with us, follow us on our Twitter. We will post updates as well as links to new videos and blog posts.
I hope you enjoy our blog! Have a good day and I look forward to posting more.

Hey There!
The name is Brittany. I would be the “Britts,” in case you could not figure that one out on your own. I am 19 years old and I graduated from Spring Hill High School in 2009. I am currently working on enrolling in Cosmetology School and hoping to be bringing in the big bucks in a couple of years (not really.) I work at Bath and Body Works. I have been there for almost a year now and I love it. Don’t get me wrong, there are moments when I wish I could throw a bottle of lotion at certain customers, but it’s a fun job overall.
I’m not into the whole smoking/drinking/drugs scene. I pride myself in the fact that I have a few brain cells left. I am a Christian. That does not mean I’m uptight and that does not mean that I do not know how to have a good time; it means that I know Jesus is the only way. I am doing my best to glorify Him in everything I do. I’m not perfect, but I try.
I enjoy music; it is one of the most important and influential things in my life. Music has the crazy ability to make everything seem okay when I’m feeling down. I can be in the worst mood in the world and then blast my favorite song for thirty minutes and I’m fine. I also love to sing. I’m not very good at it in my opinion, but it’s a big thing for me. I have a guitar. It is blue. It is beautiful; almost as beautiful as my car. I do not know how to play very much, but I am hoping to pick up on it a little more in the near future. I also like playing around on the piano.
I met Fisher at Burger King on June 9th. It was a random occurrence and at first he came off as a jerk. I remember thinking, “Typical pretty boy lifeguard,” but something about him intrigued me. I added him on Facebook the next day and he asked for my number. We went on a date and as they say; the rest is history. We have a pretty dynamic relationship. We joke around about how when we walk into the room, everyone stares because we’re so beautiful. I think we look pretty good, but Fisher’s ego flares up more than mine (Love you, babe.) It’s almost been two months since we started dating and I couldn’t be happier with him. So, here’s to the future and whatever it may bring!
